About the department
The pathology laboratory handles haematology, biochemistry, urine analysis and routine microbiology for outpatients, inpatients and the emergency department.
Urgent samples from the casualty, the labour room and the operation theatre are prioritised so that treatment decisions are not held up waiting for a result.
